Overview
Revamp Aulus's gameplay overthrow's old Aulus's gameplay, making the old simple skills and mechanics into a new complex skill set that needs patience and timing.
Strengths
Revamped Aulus has amazing damage and damage reduction with his ultimate, his cc immunity annoys people and the new update made him a squishy hero killer. His build path is very versatile, only needing at least one core item, or in this guide, two core items.
Weaknesses
He scales too slowly, moves too slowly, he can feel squishy without the right build, and is heavily countered by true damage.
Equipment
Scaling defense, disruptor, chaser.
Aulus at times feels squishy, so thunderbelt can help compensate for his lack of defense, using his first skill and second skill he can reliably chase opponents and gain stacks of thunderbelt, thunderbelt also has +20 movement speed so it's a plus. You want to get thunderbelt as your first item, it's very important to start stacking early on, adding rapid boots to the mix can make his chasing ability even better. War axe is self explanatory, it's his absolutely required item, but as for the last three, it's optional, you should always buy counter defense equipments instead of following this build for the last three items. When going against Lesley, you don't need thunderbelt, So don't buy it if you encounter her.
Emblems
Sufficient damage, sufficient healing
Fighter emblem, thrill, and festival of blood is self explanatory, as it's crucial for extra damage and spellvamp, as for impure rage, it gives even more damage and chip heal on his second skill, and helps a lot in the early game for poking, securing the exp crab and dealing with minions.
Chase and heal tanker
As you know, Aulus can feel slow sometimes, so agility adds a bit more chasing ability, his lifesteal and spellvamp can seem very little, so brave smite can help compensate heals for early fights against your laning opponent if they're dealing alot of damage.
Battle Spell
It pairs very well with his ultimate and combined, gives another layer of damage reduction, as well as damage reflection. It's up to you for what battlespells you want on him.
Playstyle
Early game gold farmer.
During early game, you want to maximize gold and exp farming instead of skirmishing, try to poke the enemy laner with your second skill but don't use the second phase of it, afterwards, try to gauge your opponent hero matchup, I recommend being as aggressive as possible if you see that the enemy laner can't win against you.
Mid game tanky assassin.
During mid game, after getting war axe, you can reliably chase the enemy mage and marksman as his damage spike is after buying war axe, his ultimate makes chasing a breeze and deals alot of damage to low max hp mages and marksman, the cc immunity on his first skill makes you almost unstoppable so it should at least bait out spells if they're scared of you.
Late game tanker and disruptor of battlefield.
At late game, your thunderbelt stacks should be high enough to negate the downsides of not buying a defense increasing boots, his ultimate and vengeance can make him very tanky and he can charge into crowds of enemies and come out surviving with a kill or two. At this point of the game you need to chase after DPS heroes who might be a problem to your team, so chase after them and make them terrified! P.s. only charge in when you have cc immunity on case the enemies have stuns that can interrupt Aulus's first skill.

Floryn · 100% co-op win rate
Aulus is a hero that dives deep into enemy territory, so supports have a hard time following him, floryn makes up for that issue by having an global heal, the extra item floryn gives makes Aulus a formidable fighter.
Angela · 80% co-op win rate
Angela buffs his movement speeds, gives him shield and consistent healing, it makes him a monster that creates moments that make him seem unkillable. Downsides is that Angela may be put into danger as soon as her ult ends, landing her straight Infront of enemies if Aulus dies.
Estes · 60% co-op win rate
Aulus does benefit a lot from the defense increase from Estes, but he does not stay close to Estes enough for it to matter as Aulus is a diver that goes far away.
Marcel · 20% co-op win rate
Well, this is self explanatory, Aulus can't make use of golden hour.
Carmilla · 100% co-op win rate
Carmilla adds a lot to his ult damage, but it requires good setup.
Tigreal · 80% co-op win rate
Any setter takes is a good match for Aulus, as it gives him free hits, but it's not perfect because sometimes Aulus can't reach the sets fast enough.
Watch out for
Thamuz · 20% counter win rate
Thamuz has too much damage, healing and hp to allow Aulus to take him down without help.
Lesley · 40% counter win rate
Meeting a Lesley is probably your worst nightmare as Aulus, but you can always buy guardian helmet, oracle and blade armor to counter her, though the issue is not having reliable defense against her teammates. Your first priority is to take her down as soon as possible and buy counter items.
Sun · 100% counter win rate
Sun is unable to burst him down and his clones give Aulus extra targets to lifesteal and spellvamp from.
Sora · 80% counter win rate
Sora may be able to get an advantage early game, but at late game, sora loses to Aulus. Sora's thunder form makes him vulnerable from being bursted down by Aulus, and Sora's second ult can easily be soaked up by Aulus's Ultimate. Cloud form on the other hand has a bit more leeway, as it can stop Aulus from charging up his cc immunity, but it doesn't do enough damage to make Aulus falter.
Guinevere · 20% counter win rate
Guinevere's constant knockups and stuns make Aulus's life a hell, her marks is annoying to manage against.
Karrie · 40% counter win rate
Aulus could buy items to counter her attack speed, but it's only a matter of time before Karrie gets the upper hand.
